Retainer
Incident response retainer
Short definition
An agreement arranged before a crisis to give access to specialists on agreed terms. In the public NCC offering examined here, the annual availability fee is separate from prepaid response time; additional work follows the contractual terms. Commitments define access and the initial response. Restoring a usable service still depends on the work required.
