Replacing extreme values at selected thresholds
Short definition
A statistical treatment that replaces values beyond selected thresholds with those thresholds while retaining the observations. For CES quantitative indicators, the limits are the 2nd and 98th percentiles of the weighted distribution, calculated separately for each country and survey round. This limits the influence of extreme responses on the mean.
