// definition
Loss accumulation risk
Simultaneous losses arising from a common exposure
Short definition
The possibility that one event causes losses for several insured parties, including when they depend on the same service, software or infrastructure. An insurer may then face simultaneous claims. Assessment requires identifying dependencies and the cover concerned. A breakdown of claim amounts by company size does not establish that the losses share a common cause.
