A month compared with the same month a year earlier
Short definition
Change in an index between a month and the same month of the previous year. Divide the current level by the level twelve months earlier, subtract one and multiply by one hundred. The comparison differs from a monthly change, an annual-average change and a cumulative nine-month change.
