Electricity demand response
Reducing consumption during a defined period
Short definition
A reduction in electricity consumption during a defined period, assessed against a baseline representing consumption without the action. An activity may be moved to another period or forgone. A time-varying supply tariff encourages customers to adapt their use; measuring the actual reduction requires a baseline method in addition to the price calendar.
