Residual electricity demand
Demand after deducting specified generation
Short definition
Electricity demand remaining after the generation specified by a given method has been deducted. Under RTE’s 30 September 2026 PP-day method, the criterion is the forecast hourly peak of French consumption before demand response, less forecast wind and solar generation. This residual measures demand to be met; supply adequacy also depends on the resources available.
