CJIP
French judicial public-interest agreement
Short definition
A French criminal-procedure settlement agreed by a prosecutor and a legal person in the cases allowed by law, then submitted for judicial approval. It may require a public-interest fine and other obligations. Approval is distinct from a declaration of guilt or a conviction; fulfilling the agreed obligations extinguishes the prosecution for the covered conduct.
