Redundancy
Additional resources that can take over a function
Short definition
An arrangement in which an additional resource can take over a function following a failure. Duplicated equipment may retain shared dependencies, such as the same administration environment. Assessing the fallback therefore requires examining the disruption scenario, the functions preserved and the process conditions.
