Maximum Tolerable Downtime
Short definition
The total outage or disruption a responsible owner is willing to accept for a business process, taking all relevant impacts into account. IT resource recovery and necessary data reprocessing must fit within this period. It is a business-specific impact tolerance, rather than a recovery duration already demonstrated by a test.
