Short definition
A legal entity distinct from the manufacturer that provides organised, ongoing support for the development of free and open-source software intended for commercial activities and ensures its viability. From 11 December 2027, the CRA requires it to maintain a cybersecurity policy, cooperate with authorities and fulfil reporting duties tailored to its role.
